Back again

BoysOne of my favourite posts to write was called ‘From the Back’ written in July 2018.  The subject was of pictures taken from behind the subject, when they don’t know that they’re being photographed. I said then….. ‘I wonder what it is about them? After all, my grandchildren are a handsome bunch and I love to see their beautiful faces. So is it perhaps the total absence of pose in the unknowing subject? In them I find the innocence of the child so poignantly real.  I’ve no idea why that is but there is something in these that keeps me coming back to look and smile’.

Some of the original photos can be see at the end of this post, and today I’m sharing a few of the recent ones.

  1. Delightful photographs of your lovely grandchildren. As you know I’m a huge fan of this style of photograph and yes, I think it is because they are so natural. Snapshots of special moments. X

  2. I think it is perhaps how natural they are that appeal to me. The children are not “posing” because they don’t know they are being photographed. They are not self-conscious, trying to smile, etc. I especially like the ones showing the siblings (I presume) together. Thank you for sharing, Eloise. 🙂

    • The pictures don’t quite tell the whole story, Bless! Half the time they are fighting but when they are being nice to each other, it makes for some lovely shots.
