An off-work Wednesday

I’d booked my three working days off  but last week was so busy that I cancelled yesterday’s day off. Today, however – no work! Hooray. I went to the gym this morning and then did a bit of shopping. The Ocado delivery came at 6pm but there are some bits and pieces that I have to buy elsewhere.  After shopping I came home, did some ironing, made a start on the Christmas cards and read the newspaper rather than just skimming through, which is what usually tends to happen on work days. Then I popped out to see my younger granddaughter in her new glasses. She’s feeling very lucky at the moment – new glasses and a kitten! Of course, I took the time for a kitty cuddle.

Tomorrow is our gym Christmas lunch. We will be in Astwood Bank at The Bell – our usual gym celebration venue.  Three courses (plus coffee and mince pies) for £12.50. You might think that for that much it will be nothing special but from past experience I know that the food will be good, hot and plentiful, and the service excellent. I now need to go and paint my nails. I’ll go for a deep Christmassy red, I think.

In case you haven’t read about my gym before, you may not realise how much we are involved in charity collections. The local food bank benefits greatly and this year we have also provided the local Home-start charity with children’s gifts – here are just some of them.
